Charito Soriano has been a live musician for over 20 years and a recording artist since 2014. Her experience in choir and community organizations has positioned her as a leader across various projects. With a degree in Human Development and a minor in Music from UC Davis, she has taught music for over 12 years.

 

Though her primary instrument is voice, she is also proficient in piano, guitar, ukulele, DJing, songwriting, sound baths, and basic music production. Since the pandemic, Charito has embraced the digital space, performing at online festivals, hosting virtual conferences, workshops, and healing spaces, and providing music lessons and performances. She currently plays with Astralogik, Pinay Voltron, and Ruby Ibarra’s band, the Balikbayans.

 

Focusing on mental health and mindful communication, she expresses her creativity through sound baths, live performances, DJing, music education, songwriting, decolonization practice, and community collaborations. As a queer, first-generation American-born Filipina, Charito aims to reshape narratives around what it means to be a successful, happy and productive human being in this timeline.
